SANDY, UT — WCF Insurance1 today announced plans to restructure its organization into a mutual insurance holding company (MHC), pending a vote of WCF Mutual policyholders. This strategic change is designed to preserve WCF’s mutual heritage while enhancing its ability to serve policyholders, expand offerings, and grow responsibly in a rapidly evolving insurance market.
“Since 1917, WCF Insurance has focused on serving policyholders with strength, stability, and care,” said Matt Lyon, CEO & President of WCF Insurance. “Restructuring into a mutual insurance holding company is the natural next step in that journey. It reinforces our mutual values while giving us the operational flexibility needed to grow and adapt into the future.”
Under the proposed structure, a newly formed entity—WCF Mutual Insurance Holding Company—will become the parent company of WCF Insurance Company (formerly WCF Mutual Insurance Company), WCF National Insurance Company, and WCF Select Insurance Company. All three insurers will be subsidiaries of the holding company. Importantly, policyholders of WCF Mutual, WCF National, and WCF Select will all become members of the mutual holding company, preserving and expanding mutuality across the organization.
If approved, the restructuring is expected to take effect on January 1, 2026.
