SALT LAKE CITY, UT – WCF Insurance teamed up with its partners at the Utah Jazz to present a community event benefiting underserved youth in South Salt Lake City, as part of their joint Community Connections Program. The event was held on June 25 at Delta Center, bringing together multiple organizations to showcase the impact of partnership and community support.
Central to this event was the involvement of Can’d Aid, a nonprofit organization that promotes outdoor activities and healthy lifestyles among youth. Can’d Aid, alongside volunteers from WCF Insurance, the Utah Jazz, United Way of Salt Lake, and Promise South Salt Lake, worked together to build and donate 100 custom skateboards for deserving youth from the Promise South Salt Lake Program. The skateboard assembly took place in the morning, followed by the arrival of the youth, who were surprised with a one-of-a-kind experience and their new skateboards, just in time for summer.
Promise South Salt Lake, an after-school and summer program initiated by South Salt Lake City’s Mayor, Cherie Wood, and WCF’s partners at United Way of Salt Lake and Promise Partnership Utah, collaborated to bring the kids to Delta Center for an unforgettable experience.
Janice Co, WCF’s chief operating officer stated, “Our Community Connections Program with the Utah Jazz is all about community support, and the impact we can have when we work together. We were thrilled to collaborate with several organizations to provide 100 custom-built skateboards, encouraging kids to get outside and enjoy the summer. We are grateful for this partnership and to make a positive impact in our local community”.
This day of service at Delta Center was a heartwarming display of community support, and an example of caring collaboration between groups working toward a common goal.
